Do you set a standard—or wait for one?
This application helps the iMAT review board understand your taste, standards, and relationship to the choices you make. Your answers create a review profile. They do not automatically approve or decline you.
Before you begin
- The review board evaluates the whole application, not only a score.
- A score is a decision-support tool, not an automated decision.
- Applicants may request correction of factual responses.
- Applicants must not be asked for protected traits or unnecessary sensitive personal data.
- Submission may result in a pending, approved, or declined status.
Staging: the eligibility acknowledgement and privacy policy are pending owner and counsel approval.
What is a Tastemaker?
Being called a Tastemaker is a strong compliment regarding a person’s influence, style, and judgment.
At its core, a Tastemaker is someone who defines, predicts, or shapes what is popular, desirable, or aesthetically high-quality within a specific domain—whether design, technology, food and beverage, apparel, culture, or lifestyle.
- Curatorial authority. A Tastemaker has a refined, discerning eye or palate. People trust their standards and look to what they wear, use, build, eat, or recommend as a benchmark for quality.
- Trendsetting ahead of the curve. Rather than following mainstream trends, a Tastemaker naturally spots or adopts ideas, aesthetics, and innovations early. Others look to them to see what may be coming next.
- Cultural and commercial influence. A Tastemaker’s preferences create a ripple effect. When they endorse a brand, concept, product, or place, it can validate its value and influence how others perceive and adopt it.
- Authenticity and distinction. Tastemakers stand out because they hold a distinct, consistent creative vision or personal point of view that feels deliberate, high-contrast, and uncompromising in its standards.
In short, a Tastemaker does not only consume culture or design. A Tastemaker actively helps set its standard.
Tastemaker access is reviewed. It is not automatic, it is not sold, and it is not required to shop Curtain or other public Feel Good Group products.
